AI Search Is Rewriting the Rules of Online Visibility
As search engines move from lists of links to direct answers, businesses face a new challenge: earning a place in the AI-generated response.
Artificial intelligence is reshaping the internet - and challenging the value of even the most coveted position in Google Search.
For years, online visibility was largely a matter of ranking. Companies competed to appear as high as possible on the results page, investing heavily in search engine optimisation to attract clicks and website traffic. That model is now beginning to change.
AI-powered search engines no longer simply present users with a selection of links. Increasingly, they collect information from multiple sources, compare it and deliver a direct, summarised answer.
The experience may be faster and more convenient for users, but it creates an entirely new set of questions for businesses. Ranking well may no longer be enough. Brands must also demonstrate that they are credible, recognisable and authoritative enough to be included in the answer itself.
What Happens When Google Answers the Question?
The shift is particularly significant for the iGaming industry, where search has long been a major channel for reaching customers and business partners.
Online casino operators, sports betting companies, affiliate platforms and technology suppliers all rely on search visibility. If users begin receiving the information they need without visiting individual websites, the industry could see substantial changes in organic traffic and customer acquisition.
Affiliate businesses may also need to rethink their role. Instead of competing only for a prominent position in traditional search results, they will have to consider whether their content is trusted and relevant enough to be cited by AI systems.
Ultimately, the key question is no longer simply, “Who ranks first?” It is becoming, “Who deserves to be included in the answer?”
EEGS Webinar to Explore the Impact on iGaming
These changes will be examined during an upcoming EEGS webinar featuring Ulyana Korobeynikova, a public relations and communications strategist with more than eight years of experience in the iGaming industry.
Korobeynikova will discuss how AI Search differs from previous Google updates and what the transformation could mean for gaming operators, affiliates and suppliers.
The conversation will extend beyond technology. It will also consider how people discover information, which sources they are likely to trust and how brands should communicate in an increasingly AI-driven digital environment.
Organised in partnership with CT Interactive, the webinar is scheduled for 25 June 2026 at 3:00 p.m.
